New Black Longboard Designs

Last year after I graduated, I was contacted by New Black to make an artpiece about their company. This concept then would be brought further to fruition throughout my first year as an independent illustrator and graphic designer.

We decided to use drop through longboard decks as our canvas to portray the artwork on.

It’s a representation of the company in many ways. The artwork is filled with inside jokes and easter eggs about the team of New Black, and is designed to portray the team in a creative and exciting way.

We then decided to print silkscreen T-shirts of my artwork to be able to be worn by the team.

Mijke Buskes designed the hanging system since the way of presenting skate decks with trucks and wheels on a wall as an artpiece has not been done in this way yet.

I’m really happy how they turned out, and had an awesome time realising this project!
