MILESTONE: First time my work is in a magazine!
Music Traveler Magazine approached me this summer to work together. They send me the articles, and I get to choose one to illustrate.

I chose an article about legendary blues gitarist Jimmy Rogers. My love for music started with the blues when I was about 14 years old, so this is also a hommage to the genre as a whole.

Jimmy Rogers grew up in Ruleville, Mississippi and was an integral part of Muddy Waters’ band. The background is based on the famous water towers of Jimmy’s hometown.

The big snake is a king snake. This is a nod to my favourite blues song ever: Crawlin’ king snake by John Lee Hooker.
